Daures Village welcomes first cohort of young Namibians for A2D training

The Daures Green Hydrogen Village (DGHV) on Thursday officially welcomed its first cohort of 10 young Namibians as part of the Accelerate to Demonstrate (A2D) training initiative. The programme, funded by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), aims to train over 250 young Namibians, particularly those from marginalised communities, in sustainable agriculture and green innovation. Speaking to NewsOnOne, one of the beneficiaries, Heaven Hangula, shared her enthusiasm for the opportunity, saying she is excited about the journey ahead and looks forward to acquiring the necessary skills and knowledge to thrive in clean farming. Similarly, 19-year-old Shanel Nakura said she is ready to take this important step and hopes to one day start her own garden, applying the experience and insights she will gain through the training. Deputy minister of youth, Dino Ballotti, expressed appreciation for the initiative and commended Daures Village for the progress made so far. He noted that the ongoing work at the Daures Village exemplifies the kind of innovation and community-based economic development Namibia is striving for.
